Left, Right, and Center: Thoughts about Life Paths

Merriam-Webster On-line Dictionary gives the definition of “ALLEGORY” as “the expression by means of symbolic fictional figures and actions of truths or generalizations about human existence”.

I am working on an allegory that contrasts three common paths in life. We all know someone who is always trying to do the RIGHT thing in life. Helping others to a fault, following every rule to a fault, examining every decision to a fault. These people often do not move ahead.

We all know someone who is always plagued by what was LEFT behind. They talk about before they left school. They talk about before they left their marriage. They talk about before they left that great job.  These people often do not move ahead.

If we are lucky, we befriend someone who has the balance. They balance the pull to the left and the pull to the right. They are able to stay in the CENTER. They are able to move ahead in life.
